Funny thing happened when I woke up this morning. Heard 5fm’s danger boy playing ‘Robin Hood with a tow truck’ in Beach Road, Sea Point, Cape Town during Mark Gillman’s show. Towing the rich and giving to the poor. Of all the cars in Beach Road he happens to tow GHFM DJ, Nigel Pierce’s car (vw chico?). There I was jumping from 5fm to GHFM to 5fm to GHFM to 5fm. Hearing Nigel Pierce screaming on 5fm while he played songs on GHFM.
Was this the SABC’s marketing/PR department conducting a well executed campaign or did this only happen by chance? If I am not mistaken both 5fm and GHFM are owned by the SABC. Yip, both owned by the SABC. They also had their ads playing at the same time so you couldn’t listen to 5fm during a GHFM ad break or listen to GHFM during a 5fm ad break.
I prefer Bush Radio 89.5 , Tuesday Nights, 10pm – 12 anyhow. They even have a blog!
