How to click less when using Firefox

3 Comments 21 May 2006

Tabbed browsing(Coming soon to IE7) got me there and the extensions got me stuck.

Whenever you need to open a new tab in Firefox you would:

  1. Right Click on Link.
  2. Left Click Open Link in New Tab.

To reduce the amount of clicks for opening a new tab in Firefox you:

  1. Middle-Click (the little scrolling thing on your mouse)

The link will automatically open in a new Firefox tab. Already you are saving 50% of the clicking required to open a new tab in Firefox.

Do you know any other click or timesaving shortcuts in Firefox that that you think not many people know about ? Feel free to post a comment.

I almost always use ctrl + left click to open in a new tab, you can also use ctrl+tab to cycle through tabs, which is a great timesaver…

Hay, you can even MIDDLE-CLICK on the back or forward buttons ;)
    That saves time going back/forth.
