Google’s 9 principles of Innovation

2 Comments 14 June 2006

The ‘i’ in the Web AddiCT acronym is for Innovation. Barney says that sharing is caring:

Google VP of search products and user experience Marissa Mayer (their innovation guru) gives a presentation on the search engine giant’s nine principles of innovation.

These rules are:

  1. Ideas come from everywhere
  2. Cheer everything you can
  3. You’re brilliant, we’re hiring
  4. A license to pursue dreams
  5. Innovation, not instant perfection
  6. Data is apolitical
  7. Creativity loves constraints
  8. It’s users, not money
  9. Don’t kill projects, morph them

For those of you with broadband internet you can stream the video presentation of Google’s Nine principles of Innovation here. Don’t you just love here laugh? :)

    Thanks for that.
You didn’t put point 7 in bold, but I think it’s v. useful for freelancers/artists to keep in mind.

TYFYC Dave – They should all be bold. The reason for the bold is that I’ll be blogging about those when the time allows some time in the future.
