SA govt lags open source trends

South African Government is behind the curve in a global trend towards open source software, the Gartner conference in Cape Town has heard.

time to ping the SA govt, looks like not only Cape Town (with a smaller ICT budget) needs/has to do some catching up. :)

    I hard some positive news recently. Apparently computer science school students must now be able to submit all their assignments in Open Document format also if they choose to according to the Department of Education.

    Otherwise, open source is exactly like the second network operator: All talk but little action. (I hear an Elvis song coming on…)
