Search for a Linux Laptop – Lenovo, Suse on ThinkPads

Following reports in June that Lenovo would not be installing Linux on any of its hardware, the company has backtracked and yesterday announced plans to run and support Novell’s Suse Linux on its ThinkPad line.

A mission it is to find a notebook without Windows XP in South Africa, I know I’m not the only one trying to find one, a SuSE fan I am, while my desptop is in for repairs the hunt for an XP free notbooks heats up. Anyone know where i can find Lenovo in Cape Town? I’d love to get my hands on on of these babies

Hey, have you got your laptop yet? I’m looking for the same, HP business laptops look nice, if you look on international site they say which ones (pretty much all of them) that are suse 10 compatible.

TYFYC Tim – No I haven’t gotten hold of the Lenovo yet I contacted one of the dealers in Cape TOwn with a bad example of a default oscommerce website via their online contact form. I have had no response from them , 3 months later. I know lenovo is a great laptop, I wana get my hands on one of the Lenovo Laptops running SuSE before going to TEDglobal 2007 in Tanzania.
