View Comments 24 October 2006

Some of you might have heard about Google releasing it’s Custom Search Engine on the Google Coop site. Your Web Addict(s); are on top of it. Check out our search in the menu and you’ll see our custom search engine at work. Site’s we’ve listed in our search engine are of course from our fellow blogonauts, but also from other sites we’ve had our fingers and faces in and all local of course, because local is lekker.

If you want to create your own Custom Search Engine, check it out here.

This is a very neat little service google is offering, and I foresee lots of blogs will start using it, as it will go hand in hand with blogrolls. List you blogroll and search your blogroll.

But there’s more! There’s some collaboration features in the CSE. When creating your CSE you get some preference settings at the bottom one which is
Anyone may volunteer to contribute to this search engine. OR
Only people I invite may contribute to this search engine.

This will open some new blog participation avenues and I’m sure other collaboration ideas will arise from this.

What you think this are good uses for this type of technology?

We got 26 sites listed so far in our CSE, all local. Do you want to add your 2c to our custom search engine?
