18 Comments 09 November 2006

We’ve monetized this blog with Google adsense to pay for bandwidth but as Your Web AddiCT(s); love the local falvour we’ve come accross a South African Affiliate network.

Sign up to TrafficSynergy.com

It looks pretty interesting with some of the following advertisers: Musica, CNA, Bid-Or-Buy online Auction site, Apple Ipod NaNo, the list continues…

Campaigns are offered in South Africa, many African Countries and Internationally aswell. Have any of you fellow bloggers, AddiCT(s);, you reading this via your preferred RSS reader used thsi South African affliliate network before? What are your views on affiliate networks? We’d like your input.

Have you read these yet?

    Welcome to our network Rafiq!
Yes, Affiliate Marketing offers sites access to advertisers without the hassle of the negotiations and paperwork(which we do for you).
Besides, it gives a way for bloggers to get in on the action in a bigger way than adsense. Thanks for supporting our Proudly South African company.

It looks pretty sweet, having issues with usability of the site though. I support local as far as possible :)

Been using traffic synergy for a while now but haven’t really focused too much on it as I was targeting the international market. I’m yet to build sites and focusing on it in order to reach the SA market.

Thanks for the reminder – that there is such a great network in SA.

    Traffic Synergy are crooks.

I had their code running on a blog for testing, then stuck it on a new site that generated 500,000 clicks plus per month – and which sent a good deal of traffic their way via their advertisers. When it came to time to pay though, both my accounts suddenly disappeared.

They apparently decided to “investigate for fraud” – although I had well-documented stats to back up the figures and submitted these to them as proof of no fraud. When I phoned them to find out what the problem was I was told straight out (and these are their exact words) “oh, we don’t like it when people click on the ads, it’s not natural”. Account deleted, stuff you.

Basically, they’re taking advertiser’s cash and then simply pick and choose who to pay or not pay.

Google Adsense tends to do exactly the same thing – when it comes to paytime, “oops – we don’t like you anymore, you’re a potential danger to our advertisers (!?!), account deleted”. In spite of years spent quietly garnering click-throughs on their behalf.

OfferForge on the other hand has been brilliant. They’re open, honest and pay out exactly what you’ve earned, right on time.

Monetizing one’s site with a ppc program can really help offset bills and make an extra change for you. Niching can make you really move upwards in your earnings as there are many bloggers making a living by just doing this.

Interesting articel. I would also highly recommend to buy online http://www.OnSaleToday.co.za or if you want to make money – onsaletoday is ideal, as it is practically free to list and sell your items online – why I also recommend it is because of it’s security, and it is impossible to be scammed with their built-in-bank system. although it’s a newly launched south african auction site, they’ve definately started off the right road.

found a nice article on Offerforge http://www.2000amonth.blogspot.com
It’s similar to traffic synergy, but I actually got paid R202 last month – Heard Traffic synergy are stingy with payments

This is all good. How much really will it cost one to start a blog?

Traffic Synergy generally works for me – I find it more effective than ClickBank or CJ for generating affiliate revenue…
