Thank You – Another Cheque from Google

3 Comments 05 December 2006

1st thing first 10% of all revenue generated from all online advertsing goes to the Cape Linux User Group.

Everything else goes to paying for our dedicated server that hosts this blog.

We could actually make money from blogging if hositng a site in South Africa didn’t cost as much as the hp on an entry level car. No, we’re not going to be moving the hositng to the US or EU any time soon.

Google, when you launch in South AFrica please bring lots of low cost bandwidth with you.

    www. virgin mobile.co.za? what virgin……

    hello all,
it appeared to me when i was trying to visit the virgin mobile website that it has been destroyed by some hackers,

this morning , as i was trying to visit virginmobile.co.za i was hit by this message,
    We’ll be back soon

    * It appears a sneaky little devil has created a glitch in the Virgin Mobile matrix.
Have a coffee and we should be online by the time you get back.

what is going on with virgin?

i was about to move to their network but , how in the world will they meet my needs when they can’t even keep up with their business platform?

Hey Guys I think there is no good reason to keep hosting websites in South Africa. Your time and energy is better spent creating fantastic websites and generating even more Google Adsense revenue from it. You know you can host for free with Google now? They even provide free hosted email on your own domain.

Checkout Google Apps for Your Domain here.

    cheers
    Ramon

TYFYC Ramon – Hosting a website offshore is like me moving to Jozi, not going to happen unless the target audience is offshore. Compar the speed of locally hosted sites to sites hosted offshore.
