Web PR+: Web 2.0 Conference

10 Comments 15 January 2007

A few days ago I blogged about the lessons learnt surrounding the 27Geekdinner issue and as the last point I displayed a little band-aid PR plaster. The situation could have gotten much uglier than it did but it was a good example of Online Reputation Management.

Say what? What is Online Reputation management? Did you knwo that Online Reputation Management existed?
Quirk emarketing’s Rob Stokes has invited Your Web AddiCT to their Web PR+ conference… “We’d really value you input.’ & I’d really like to meet the new fish :)

Some more Info about the Web PR+ Web 2.0 Conference:

Are you involved in the conversation? Does your company know anything about blogging, podcasting, RSS or online reputation management? It is critical to the condition of your brand that you not only understand these buzzwords but that you are actively involved in using them to cure ailing communication strategies and to prevent an online brand crisis.

Conversations take place every day, they evolve, they spark ideas, they inspire! Following on from last year’s highly successful Online+ conference, Quirk eMarketing and Sally Falkow are proud to bring you WebPR+. We’re reviving the conversation and bringing you an introduction to PR for Web2.0.

While the fundamentals of good PR still apply; the strategy, medium and methodology has evolved – no longer are we crafting one-way messages that we can control – and you can’t afford to get left behind. The WebPR+ conference will detail how online PR, reputation management and social media can strengthen your company’s presence, build your brand online and drive traffic to your website.

It’s not only in the medical profession that the saying ‘prevention is better than cure’ rings true. By being informed and putting solid brand building and crisis management strategies in place your business will not suffer the route that so many operating online have.

There are events happening in Cape Town, Jozi, and that sticky city, Durban. If your in Cape Town come say hi, I’ll be there listening, learning maybe asking a Question or 2.0.
The fun bit is that if you book your tickets via this post I get to go free.

Think I should go for free anyways, what is a Web 2.0 Conference in Cape Town without Your Web AddiCT? Wouldn’t you agree?
‘Look mom Quirk let me have water so that they can keep track of me with milk’*

Hey Rafiq – thanks for the heads up, I think I’m definitely going. I just want to hear what they have to say. Something along the lines of ‘take what I can use and leave the rest’. Great posts by the way, definitely one of my favourite morning reads.
