    Hi Rafiq

I found it amazing that this guy actually left his contact details for us, not all spammers do that unfortunately :) . This lead me to believe that perhaps this guy simply misunderstood what muti is all about so I contacted via his skype name. I explained to him what it was all about and why his stuff had been voted down (and subsequently removed) and he apologized profusely. He then explained that actually his blog is about rebuilding of a vehicle and although is sponsored by Castrol he himself is not actually selling anything. Anyway I suggested that he resubmit just one item, giving a little intro to his blog, which he has now done.
Definitely time to start adding some more antispam code though!

I have to admit Rafiq that I’m now officially pissed off that you told me I can’t add my own posts :)

I never knew this was a rule but I guess it’s better I know now than get caught out in a blog post…

I wondered where SA RacingWeb went to. It was a cool site (with an easily forgettable URL) that suddenly disappeared.

Sounds like hard work to post so many posts :)

Just thought I would post an update here as I finally got round to doing some anti-spam coding this morning. I know there are better methods and Tyler was kind enough to send me some suggestions but for now what I have done is this: No single user can submit to the same HOST more than 5 items within an hour. So a blogger could post 5 of their items and no more. Now should they get smart and decide to register twice, no single host can be posted to more than 10 times in an hour by all users. I just picked the 5 and 10 numbers more or less arbitrarily. There are a couple of other little checks for obvious spam such as “cialis” etc in the title. There is also a list of banned hosts that is maintained more or less manually at this point.

Justin: no probs on posting your first post to your own site, to me thats ok as a way of introducing yourself to muti, but what Dale Imerman did was definitely not on.

Yup it is interesting that terms say you can submit your own stuff, however the clique feel they have the right to say otherwise.

    TYFYC Wade. Clique, what clique?

is clique the muti user who creates monday tuesday wednesday thursday friday accounts to vote down all the users he/she doesn’t like?
