Bizcommunity RSS beefed up

6 Comments 04 May 2007

As part of the VeloCITI business accelleration program at the Bandwidth Barn we were introduced to all of the other tennants at the Bandwidth barn. Instead of doing the usual elevator speech when introducing ourselves to Bizcommunity, I ranted about the Bizcommunity RSS feed being cluttered with more than 100 news feeds per day. Demanding Suggesting that there be RSS feeds available on a per category basis. Someone was listening.

You are now able to select Bizcommunity RSS feeds per category & even drill down to subcategories for your preferred Bizcommunity news section of choice in the same way you have been able to get RSS feeds for driving schools on idrive.co.za in any region/city/suburb, langauge or driving code since last year.

For those of you, like me, who stopped reading bizcommunity because of the information overload via their RSS. Hop on over and select the region and topic of choice (eg: South Africa, Online Media) & enjoy the Bizcommunity’s daily news of YOUR choice in your feedreader of choice.

They have a bit of a strange way of doing it. You have to go to the RSS feeds section nd select what category / area you want there, then copy and paste a link into your feed reader! Why not just use the standard tags in head relative to the page you are on ?

I want to be subscribed to a specific set of jobs for my area but the most fine-grained I can select is province, so I’m getting dozens of random jobs in the feed.

TYFYC Gavin – There a 101 things that are easy to implement that they aren’t doing. Mayhaps I should have a chat with the Bizcomm guys?

    Dear Gavin

The jobs feed now offers province and keyword filtering. Please let me know if you have any further issues.

    Kind regards
    Simone
