Help me send the Samsung D900 back…

11 Comments 14 June 2007

…to Tanzania. Samsung have started a blog and have given 4 South Afrtican bloggers (So Close’s Tertia Albertyn, Aquila’s Nico Olwagen, Deshanta N & yours truly) a mobile phone to review and blog about over at Samsungblog.

You Web AddiCT has the super thin D900 and it went along to tedglobal2007 to take pics and videos while at the TED Global 2007 conference. Got international roaming sorted before the trip but upon arrival in Arusha there were still a few bugs but luckily the TED Fellow, Joachim Mangilima from the University of Dar es Salaam, whom I shared a room with got on the line with the Swahili speaking local mobile phone operators customer support.

Phoning your mobile phone service provider in Tanzania is exactly the same as in South Africa, you wait for ages before getting through to a real person.

Without Joachim’s assistance Your Web AddiCT would have been lost without mobile connectivity. I’m back in South Africa and would like to get the D900 back to Joachim to say thank you for all the assistance he provided but in order to do that I need your help.

In order for me to keep the Samsung D900 and send it back to Joachim in Tanzania please pop on over and vote for Rafiq Phillips in the Which blogger should keep their phone? poll. He’s about to graduate from The University of Dar es Salaam (Computer Science) and the D900′s GPRS/EDGE combined with the new laptop the TED Fellows are receiving will be an awesome boost to his mobile connectivity/productivity.

    Good Day

I am not sure with whom to address my complaint and hope that someone here can assist me.

I upgraded my Vodacom contract on 7 September 2007 and got a new U700. I was really excited about getting this phone and love the features. I have owned 3 other Samsung Mobile phones and have always been very pleased with them.

I am however, bitterly disappointed with the fact that my U700 after only one month is already showing signs of the silver wearing off. I cannot imagine what the phone will look like after 2 years, before my next upgrade is due.

I have always kept my phones in perfect condition and I have a special pouch in my handbag for my phone. The silver is wearing off is definitely not a sign of misuse as can be seen from the rest of the phone, ie. no scratches on the screen whatsoever.

I would really appreciate any suggestions you might have as I do not want the phone!!!!. I can be reached on the above email address.

    Kindest Regards.

    Maggie
