I would also say negotiate.

If you’re a freelance journalist, you need to make money to pay the bills as much as you need to get exposure.

How much articles do they expect from you per week? How much time do you have to spend writing for them?
Would it be guest post arrangement? Where below every article you write for them you would get your details and a link to your website printed.

There are many arrangements that could be worked out than just you work for them for free and that’s that.

Oooh, this is just what I need – even though I still don’t know what to do. Listen to what has just happened to me. I’ve been approached by a MAJOR international magazine (with a strong presence in print AND online) to become a blogger for them. The catch – and it’s a big one – is that they won’t pay me for my services. But since they have thousands of readers, I have been promised ‘major exposure’.

I’m incredibly flattered of course, and very tempted to say yes, but at the same time I’m a bit deflated about the money issue. I mean, they generate millions in foreign currency in advertising, so it’s not as if they can’t afford to pay me!

What do you guys think I should do? My family says I should agree to do it, but negotiate that, if they are happy with my work, that they then pay me a stipend/retainer after say 3 months or so.

Your thoughts would be appreciated!

They’re not technically the same thing, but essentially, why would you need be on alert for trends opening up new opportunities, if not to take advantage of those opportunities. Point 4 presupposes point 5.

point 4 says, “You need to be on the alert” while point 5 emphasizes on taking full advantages of the opportunities

Hey Yebo,

Good tips. To build an effective EWP certain strategies need to be in place as you rightly mentioned.

One thing then to help me establish an EWP which has to do with optimization:

1. Your share “this” component includes the Muti link. I’ve tried to follow the advice in FeedFlare but I get an error saying that no such file is located at this address or somehting in that fashion.

Any ideas?
