Continuing the Facebook Less posts. You’ve turned of all email notifications and you are importing your blog posts into your Facebook notes. Don’t you just love automation?
Another way to Facebook Less (Keeping your facebook updated without having to log into Facebook) is by updating your status by using Twitter and your instant Messaging application of choice. Your Web AddiCT(s); IM client of choice is pidgin, what do you use?
On the quest to remain part of the facebook community without having many hours lost to getting trapped in the Facebook rabbit hole. We’ve recently discovered that you are now able to update your fb status with your twitter status.
You’ll need a facebook account, a twitter account, twitter setup from your instant messager and the twitter Facebook Application. Follow the step by step instructions and before you knwo it you are able to update your facebook status from Google Talk, Gmail Chat, Pidgin(ex-Gaim), even Fring and Yeigo. Jabber rules!

Heys, not sure if this help’s but no harm posting. Had problems with selective posting and account mixups. Found my solution with this guy’s tutorial:

He details using this other app that helps post selectively only.
However he says it doesn’t work if your twitter feed is on private/safe mode.

Right, so while Twitter can update Facebook, it doesn’t actually work the other way ’round. Facebook will not update Twitter.
