The first thing you will need before you continue is Java Runtime Environment for your PC.
Download it here: Java Runtime Environment 6 Download Page
Now once you have downloaded and installed Java Runtime Environment Download Mpowerplayer
Here: http://webstart.mpowerplayer.com/
A download dialog box will appear, download the file and run it, it will open a new window, and begin
downloading mpowerplayer.
Once Its downloaded and installed you will then have to download the MXit file.
Download it here: MXit download
Because your on your pc, No phone will be detected by the MXit site, so follow these steps to download it for your PC.
Step 1

Now select a phone, I recommend Nokia.
Step 3
Now choose a model, You may choose any model you like.
Step 4
Now follow the steps until you get to the download page.
Step 5
Now select Normal and a download dialog box will appear.
Download the file, Make sure you know where its downloading to.
Step 6
Once its downloaded open up mpowerplayer from the start menu,
Start>All Programs>Mpowerplayer.
Step 7
Select file>Open
Step 8
Select the file you downloaded, it will have a long name like this:
Now MXit will load up, Login like you would on your phone and continue, It will connect,
and login, just like it does on your phone. and the main screen will appear.
You know have MXit on your PC!!
EVERYTIME YOU WOULD LIKE TO RUN MXIT ON YOUR PC AGAIN, YOU WILL HAVE TO RE DOWNLOAD IT EACH TIME,
YOU CANNOT USE THE SAME MXIT FILE TWICE.

Friends of mine in SA have mxit on their phone so I tried to put it on my pc wel I did its on but…how do I add contacts? does it still cost money on the pc? if it costs money how do I put it on?

Goto Contact, Add contact and fill in the number of the person you wish to add.
It does not cost anything extra on PC.
Just the cost of being connected to the net;)
Well ive tried to do it the why it explains ^above here^ but is just isnt working so I decided for another approach I went to the official mxit site there u could also download the pc version of mxit (for the people who have mxit on there phone check it out its a bit easier I think cause after u downloaded it u just typ in ur numbr and ur PIN u dont have to redownload anything or nothing extra) BUT my problem is I dont have mxit on my phone and no registration when I open mxit it tells me to typ my numbr and my PIN wich I dont have it does explain how to registrate but it must be done by phone and I cant cause I havent got internet on it…so u need mxit on ur phone before u can use it on pc but when uve got it on pc I dont know if it costs money???
look, I already made a post about the new pc version, and i;ve already told you it costs nothing on pc! just being connected to the net of coarse. U must register on your phones mxit first.
no need to get upset….I just dont really understand this thing yet but now I managed to download it onto my mobile but theres sstil a problem I cant seem to register or loggin but that could be cause of allot of problems like GPRS and Proxy its also I think because i got vodafone in netherlands…
Can you access the internet on your phone? what model and network do you have?
yes I do have access to internet now I have a Samsung D900 I not sure wat u mean with network (provider???) cause I have vodafone(in the netherlands)
downloading went fine and stuff its just the registering that doesnt work
andmaybe something I forgot to say when I open mxit and it says welcom to mxit soon ull be chatting to onlinf friends…..(and-so-on)
but on the top bar were it says welcom to mxit there is a little icon of the world with a red stripe through it ( is that a problem??)

Hi. i followed all the steps and then when i open it on mpowerlayer it says that i do not have a valaid phone number. It says that the country i am in is guinnea-bissau. I am using mxit from the UK. How can i use mxit?. I tried just using version 3 but that doesn’t work as it is just loading and reloading and retrieving all the time i have got through a few times but then it doesn’t work.

well i did but it never worked it just loaded and loaded, then some message always came up. like there are too many users online or that there is something wrong with the server… i am clueless…

hi, i can't seem to log onto mxit via mpowerplayer. it always says my pin is wrong. is there a way i can reset it ro something??? plus the official mxitpc doesn't work on mycomputer so i can't do that. I'm using it from the UK, but i used to be able to use it fine….. HELP!!!!
