Wow. Little bit of a passive aggressive write-up there from Rafiq.

The talk did have a picture of a nun in it. And also baby boomers, busy mums and people from previously disadvantaged groups. The point being that all of these people are potential customers, and will fuel growth of the web in SA. If only web businesses will take them seriously and design online products and services they can use.

It’s a much better business strategy than design by geeks for geeks (a small market).

As for the tourist thing. Well, the welcome I received from just about everyone at 27 Dinner was very warm and engaging. So I think I’ll stick around permanently.

But as they say – all publicity is good publicity. So thanks for the write-up!

I wish I could have been there, seems it was booked up by the time I tried to get in. How do we go about signing up for these things anyway and what is the criteria for being accepted?
