Elgoog is a mirror image of the Google website . The page and all results are displayed backwards. The site is called the “google mirror” as a parody of the term “mirror” in computer Science, which usually refers to a copy or backup .
Elgoog has been denominated as the real Google Alternative , and was created by a group of 3 very enthusiastic geeks who call themselves All Too Flat. Elgoog was originally designed to help out all of those folks that couldn’t access google in countries like china where google is banned .
Elgoog looks really funny , Likewise, it’s got everything backwards (hence the mirror concept) and a very weird way of displaying search results. Furthermore you can’t really search for anything , considering that the results will be inverted , unless ofcourse you have a real mirror besides you.
So, Is this a joke? Well .. umm….Yeah it is! Essentially in the name of fighting censorship .
If you still skeptical, Elgoog is not a Real search Engine , it’s just the work of Three highly skilled geeks, but it got some Search Engine like Capabilities and sometimes it redirects you to the actual google website .
I tried to do a search for the topic of the moment i.e “The iphone” . As you might have predicted, the results were hilarious, try it out for yourself and see what you get.
