Nominate your favourite blogs for the 2008 SA Blog Awards

0 Comments 11 February 2008

The Nomination phase for the 2008 SA Blog Awards starts today, and so I thought I’d shed some light on a couple of things that people might like to know.

How the widget works

Ok, so if you visit the 2008 SA Blog Awards website, you’ll see a “Get Your Nomination Widget” link, which when you fill out the form, will get some code to paste into your blog.

The widget is a simple html image link that takes you to the SA Blog Awards website, pre-fills in your blog as a nomination in your chosen categories and saves it, so you can continue to browse the SA blogosphere and click on the nomination widgets of your favourite blogs and you find them. When you’re done browsing all your nominations will be waiting for you at the SA Blog Awards website so you can submit them all at once.

How are your nominations saved?

Your nominations will only be saved on the computer you are on, as they are saved in a cookie on your computer. As backup, in case you have cookies disabled on your computer, your nomination will be saved under your computers encrypted ip address.

The cookies created to save your nomination will expire from your computer in 2 weeks when the nomination phase is over, and same with the ip addresses that have been logged in order to save your nomination.

Is there anything else you’d like to know?

Get going, and nominate your favourite blogs!
