MXitPC version that allows you to MXit from your PC has been released a while ago in beta. Not really sure why they did this as MXit is jabber and would work with Pidgin, Adium, Meebo.
They’ve released MXit V5.5 with more bells and whistles.
I still cant twitter from MXit.
MXit please allow us to add the jabber contact twitter@twitter.com to MXit. I do not need more emoticons or skins. follow Your Web AddiCT on twitter here.

I am one of those who are disappointed by this too.
I love twitter and have actually integrated twitter onto my blog so that my tweets appear in the sidebar(www.xHydra.com)
Now I wish I could tweet on the move with my mobile

You can Twitter and Facebook from MXit already. There’s no need for any new Jabber contacts to be added or allowed by MXit (Pty) Ltd. Simply ask Marlon Parker. He did a whole workshop about micro blogging from MXit onto Twitter and Facebook at Digital Citizen Indaba 2008.

You can now update FB through MXit, right? So then you just add that app that allows your FB status to be your Twitter status. Easy
