Just A Brief Look At The GRID

The grid is a new “Map Based” social network.

See yourself on a map , discover what’s happening around you and connect with friends in your area. The GRID. Stay in the loop wherever you are.

It has a “GPS” type layout, And allows its users to share stories, pictures and videos that can be commented on.

You can also chat to other users.

Quote:

People, places and stories are all connected and The GRID is the tool that makes this a reality. Wherever you go take your friends with you. Post text, images, video and sound as content on the map for your friends or the world to see. Use the radar to find whatever you’re looking for, rate it, comment on it, forward it to your friends or subscribe for updates. Share your world on The GRID

At the moment it is based on a website, which i find rather “Un-User Friendly” And would prefer it as an application.

The GRID will soon be released in BETA as in application.

In my opinion The GRID has alot of improving to do, but has great potential, can’t wait to see what becomes of The GRID in the future.

    Hey St John,

    Thanks for the post.

You are correct in saying there is a new application coming, in fact The GRID actually had that application ready before they released the WAP application. However after a very extensive beta testing phase, it was decided that they need to hold off with releasing the Java application, the idea would be to hold off until it is almost 100% bug free and gets the thumbs up from the private beta group.

The team is working very hard to bring the best user experience possible and comments and suggestions like yours are much appreciated.

During the beta phase the WAP browser was voted as the best at the time by our beta testers and so given the fact that it would also support the most handsets they decided to first launched the WAP version.

The Java version was then taken back to development and given a serious bashing and beating so it could come back working much better.

As you say The GRID has “great potential” and we are working to put that potential in the hands of as many cellphone users as possible, not just an elite few.

Hope this answers any questions you may have.

    Regards

    SimonB
