Focus – Essence of (business) micro-blogging

Comments 01 July 2008

To continue explaining my 27dinner Cape Town Jun 2008 slideshow: The Essence of (business) micro-blogging: Twitter and All it’s friends I’ll go back to the source.

Point 1: Focus

Pick a well-defined area of focus, an area in which you have an abiding interest and an area where you at least have the desire to become an expert, if you are not already. Don’t stray into politics on your caterer’s blog, or talk about your kids on your legal blog. Focus.

Same thing applies to microblogging: Focus!

It’s the small things that count when you’re making YOU the brand. An example will be when referring to this blog, ourselves in third person or this URL.

URL is written or printed it’s webaddict.co.za or www.webaddict.co.za, 301 takes care of both of them. When you refer to this blog: Web AddiCT(s); or any of its authors are a Web AddiCT

It’s tiny but has been our focus for nearly 3 years. Just thought you should know. Now to Focus on Quirk.
