View Comments 24 November 2009

Yes a Mobile WiFi hotpsot. Imagine being able to take and share the internet with you wherever you go where there is 3g GPRS. No longer will you need a ADSL line to start your own wifi hotspot or internet cafe. There a simple use-case of the MiFi hotspot after the jump…

MIFi Mobile Wireless Hotspot

MIFi Mobile Wireless Hotspot

Simply pop a sim card into the MiFi device and it connects via 3g to your mobile network. If you’re worried about data costs simply purchase a very big mobile data bundle to save some money.

This Mobile Wireless hotspot could be cool if you were at a Geek Retreat if there wasn’t any ADSL or Wirless internet connections available. Set up a mifi and all the geeks could tweet and blog to their hearts content sharing their experiences with the rest of the wwworld. [via Hands-On With The MiFi Personal Hotspot]

I read about these a while back, damn useful!

I think we must get you an iPhone, so you start blogging iPhone stuff ;)

  2. bradley says:

if you have a rooted android phone, you can do exactly the same thing via a WiFi tether app. iPhone does it as well.

  3. I'll take a free iphone any day. Will not buy one or get bound by a CONtract just for an iPhone.

iPhone is probably the best mobile device I've ever used, and trust me, that says a lot after I worked for Yeigo. But I agree, it's not worth just buying one. Curious though, do you do Pay As You Go?

  5. I'm on a Vodacom contract and they don't want me to upgrade until end of Q12010 :( Mind you the phone i got with my current contract was not up to scratch so I've been using a Nokia Navigator that I won in The Grid blogging contest ages back.

Ah ok, end of 2010 is a bummer, but, but then there will be an even cooler phone, iphone4g!! :D

  7. DChetty says:

Check out a Nokia S60 app called JoikuSpot. Does the same thing!
