The last 27 Dinner Cape Town of 2009 was just awesome. Found it strange that a 27dinner happened two months in a row here in Cape Town. Max Kaizen was MC for the night.

Allan Kent did an interesting presentation of augmented reality web apps that got some of the folk who are new to the 27dinner events oohing and aaahing. One of the highlights of his talk was the Layar app for Google Android and the iPhone. Layar is a free application on your mobile phone which shows what is around you by displaying real time digital information on top of reality through the camera of your mobile phone.

This was followed by Raymond De Villiers, CEO of Wisdom Games: Raymond spoke about Serious Play: Using computer games for corporate learning.

The big news of the night…
The big news of the night though was Afrigator CEO, Justin Hartman, announcing that from 1 December 2009 the Afrigator and Adgator founders (Justin, Stii, Mike, Mark) will be buying back the shares they sold to MIH Internet just over a year ago. This is a massive move for Afrigator that could see them push the boundaries of innovation in the Afrosphere.

Lastly, I’d like to thank steri stumpie for the awesome drinks :)

Thank heavens Afrigator have done this, far too many people in the web industry selling out and working for corporates.

  2. stii says:

Ye, look, we realised we're definitely not corporate :/

  3. ChristopherMills says:

That's a good thing bro, I'm seriously tired of seeing all the web peeps in this SA blogsphere working for corporates!

  4. You're lucky to have so many ICT events in SA. ;-)
