3 Comments 18 December 2009

It’s that time of year when everyone starts making predictions for the year ahead. Your Web AddiCT(s) asked the other AddiCT(s); featured on the blog roll. So what did Dave Duarte, Max Kaizen, Mike Stopforth, Saaleha Bamjee-Mayet, Charl Norman, Christopher Mills and Defza think will be the in thing of 2010? Here’s the list…

  • Bandwidth in SA will be twice as cheap and twice as fast across the board by the end of 2010Dave Duarte
  • Increasing numbers of twitter users rate it as their preferred primary news source. – Saaleha Bamjee-Mayet
  • More people will understand that communication via data packets is cheaper than sending normal cellular text messages (sms) – Christopher Mills
  • Jack Parow will become South Africa’s next music superstar uniting the nation and causing all the Brits visiting SA for the World Cup to never return again. – Jonathan Cherry
  • Google Chrome – Defza

Some of you might be thinking ‘Who the **** is Jack Parow’? I did a bit of investigating and met Jack Parow in a place filled with Taiwanese sailors and Afrikaans cools kids singing Karaoke. This is Jack Parow. To hear what Jack is all about check out the Cooler as Ekke music video here

Technology has certainly emerged in times of the comming together of prevously separate technologies like voice , video & data. im anticipating that voice & video will be more accesible & affordable for all SA citizens. Techonology plays an important role in the civilization & development of our beloved country “SA”.

My prediction – 2010 will be the year where South Africa finally gets serious around small business. Investment will pick up in the sector (specifically tech, education, waste management, education and pharmaceuticals).

If you are thinking of getting into a small business, now is the time to nail your colours to the mast and take the plunge…
