This article is pure speculation with barely any solid facts.

Yes Facebook has something to share, but i doubt it is as polemic as the article states, as the author himself decided to add as an update, all information points more in the direction of a PHP Compiler then a “rewrite of the whole runtime”.

The “core PHP team” described is also inaccurate as the group was composed of a few core developers a a few community leaders, not all developers. The announcement is very unlikely to be a fork of PHP which is what the title suggests.

Anyhow, i have decided to not comment further until the actual release of whatever it is.

I wonder if we’re going to see it fail? Facebook has been a complete nightmare lately, I guess it can’t get any worse.
