Problems running MXit on PC?

37 Comments 05 June 2006

Having a problem launching Mpowerplayer?

This is probably because you are missing the java runtime environment or just need to update to the latest available version!

Download or update the java runtime environment here before trying to run MXit on your computer using mpowerplayer or before posting a MXit related comment.

Consortium brings open source database projects together

It’s no coincidence that PostgreSQL and MySQL released fixes for a SQL injection vulnerability within the last week. The SQL injection vulnerability find marks the first security collaboration between Open Source Database Consortium (OSDBC) members, but it probably won’t be the last.

If you offer E-marketing as a service (update)

1 Comment 03 June 2006

The previous post about the emarketing company not having any title tags took them 96 hours to update but they finally did :) well done.

Those next generation category keywords you plug are used mainly by geeks like us. Would the decision makers in your corporate target market really search using those terms? You are number one and two for those in the SERP’s as you should have noticed. This blog is 4 and 5 with a [ More results from www.rafiq.za.net ] link.

It is only my pleasure :) If you’re wondering why we do this have a look at what Ghandi says.

Fake – Fongkong – illegal!!!! MXit versions

26 Comments 29 May 2006

Do not download new mxit from anwhere but the official mxit website. Yes, it might look good but the non official mxit could be used to steal your personal information and could be sold to companies that will spam your inbox!

If its not from MXit.co.za, its not the real thing. Not yet anyway. Unofficial versions are not supported by MXit.co.za.

they want mxit to kick ass, but it takes time ;)

Until MXit say the reskinned ones are fine (or you read it here) DO Not download from anywhere but MXit.co.za!!! Danger Gevaar Ingozi.

SEO

If you offer emarketing as a service….

1 Comment 27 May 2006

Make sure you cover the basics. I had a look at local Web development company’s website and they offer the following as one of the many services they offer::

  • E-Marketing
  • Search Engine Optimization

Great, you offer your clients SEO (Search Engine Optimization) but have no title tag on your own site.
An ‘I’m feeling lucky’ search for SEO basics on GoogAOLe show the following:

SEO Basics

Before you begin serious SEO you must make your website is search engine friendly. This means making sure that each individual page is compliant with search engine standards and ready to be indexed correctly. Follow each of the steps below for each page on your site.

Have your list of target keywords ready – you’ll need to insert them into your pages.

Page Title

The title of the HTML page should be relatively short and describe the page content accurately. Wherever possible, try to include keywords (without distorting the true purpose of the title).

Not going to mention the company’s name but have made them aware of this. It’s been a day and still no title tag? Yes you only work office hours but the internet never sleeps.
