Google Analytics at work
Google Analytics has automatically been added to your Google AdWords account and can be found under the Analytics tab.
The graph below is of site2 (still to be named ๐ ) and represents the power of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and word-of-mouth advertising. Site2 targets a South African audience (mainly). You will notice that apart from Google and MSN, Aardvark(powered by Google) and Ananzi are the only major South African search engines that are worth mentioning, the rest of South Africa’s search engines only provide about 1% of all hits to site2. Let’s see what Jonga ( new South African Search Engine) does over the next few months. I have only been monitoring site2 since Google Analytics was launched and have been unable to monitor site1, site3, site4 & site5 as the Google Analystics team only allowed one site to be monitored. Site2 was launched at the same time Google unleashed Analytics (aka Urchin Stats) and decided to test Google’s new service, Ananlytics, on a new site (site2). We are now finally able to monitor more than one site (5 to be exact) using Google’s Analytics and have added site 1,3,4&5 and am ‘Waiting for Data’
Whats is site1, site2, site3, etc? I’ve decided not to mention the URL’s as more traffic does not equal more business for the sites. If you are South African and require the services that the sites provide you probably would’ve googled, ananzi’d, sniffed or however you search for sites in South Africa by now any how as they are on the first Search Engine Result Page (SERP) for all the right keywords (or most of them). FACT: SEO is an ongoing process.
If you’d still like to know what site1 through site5 is post a comment and I’ll mail you the URL’s.
