Thank you for the question, I personally do not use any Google products that do not work in the browser, Miguel does/did use Google Desktop at some time. I have heard and read rumours on other sites and mailing lists which I cannot verify about the pros and cons of google desktop. As for the bandwidth problem, we are on uncapped broadband wireless internet so the bandwidth we use does not really affect us. The bandwidth we do monitor are our clients web servers online.
I would suggest sorting your files, emails & folders as you would not need google dektop to search your computer if your files/emails/documents are already sorted.
