TED announced the winners of the 2007 TEDPrize on their blog yesterday.

If you donรƒยขรขโ€šยฌรขโ€žยขt know what the TEDPrize is, it goes like this:
Apart from winning $100,000 in prize money, you get to make 1 wish, but make it big and I mean big. Think world scale, eradication of polio, 1 day of peace through film, etc. You know, world changing stuff.
The TED community will do everything in their power to help you get your wish.

To help you understand what sort of things they are looking for and the kind of people who are involved in this, TED also released the video clip of the 2005 TEDPrize winners presenting their passion and wish. You can have a look at the 2006 winners presentation also in their TEDTalks section.

For those of us not big and influential enough, yet, to attend and/or present at TED or even think of having a shot at the TEDPrize, the Robinhood Fund just went live, in beta, yesterday and voting begins today.

Now what is this, you say. The Robinhood Fund is an initiative started by Cambrian House to, yip you guessed it, grant peopleรƒยขรขโ€šยฌรขโ€žยขs wishes.
It has a decidedly lower budget and smaller, less influential community then TED, but itรƒยขรขโ€šยฌรขโ€žยขs a start and will help you practice you those wish making skills.
