The CITI website had very little info regarding the veloCITI business acceleration program, or the info has been really hard to find. So I emailed the address as per press release for further information regarding the veloCITI business acceleration program.
The friendly folks at CITI were quick to respond with the VeloCITI application form and info regarding CITI‘s veloCITI business acceleration program.
The .doc attachments (what about people who do not use Microsoft Word ?) were 300K & 8MB.
8MB file attachment? Why would the Cape Information Technology Initiative send an 8MB file attached to an email? What about those budding IT entrepreneurs without ADSL?
I’d like to quote another CITI press release regarding FOSS:
The most basic premise that we work from is that Africa simply cannot afford to have billions of dollars in licensing revenue moving off the continent and into the coffers of multinationals. If we could retain that money, imagine what we could achieve in terms of local skills development, job creation and the development of our own intellectual capital.
I have nothing against the CITI, we’ll probably become members one day in the future, but how about practising what you preach?
Good news, we’ve gotten access to beta test login for Synthasite, within 24 hours not 4-6 weeks, looking forward to playing with it.
