FOSS according to wikipedia.

FOSS is an acronym for free and open source software that is most often used in English-speaking military software communities. The acronym was first used in a 2003 MITRE report that documented widespread use of, and reliance on, free software and open source software in the United States Department of Defense.

Here we go semantic markup using the acronym tag, FOSS. Mouseover FOSS to see the acronym tag in action.

Some examples of FOSS: OpenOffice, WordPress, Apache(the webserver your website is probably running on), Linux, Apache, MySQl, PHP even the Sociable plugin with muti.co.za.
