Hi all, I thought I’d clarify some points on the 2007 SA Blog Awards and give you all an update on how nominations are going so far.
Oh! before we start, I’d like to send out our excuses to Dave and Mike, for being unavailable for the podcast. Yes, that’s us they were talking about. We were having technical problems (i.e. had no headsets, so had to go out and buy), which now is sorted out, so maybe next time we’ll be prepared.
A point Dave made on the latest episode of Amplitude that every time you submit a nomination your previous one is replaced is only 99% true. With the advent of the nominate me widget, I made an exception. So, if you submit your nomination without going through a nominate me widget, then yes, your previous nomination will be replaced with the new one, but not when nominating through clicking on a nominate me widget.
There have been one or case where people had problems with submitting blog URLs. I can assure you the URL checker is working fine, but if you can’t use the nomination form and feeling frustrated, just email your nomination to sablogawards [at] gmail [dot] com and I’ll submit the nomination on your behalf, but please don’t use this as your first option.
Now the stats.
There are 485 unique Blog URLs which have been nominated so far. These nominations have come from 755 people, making submitting 3724 entries, but after grouping those blog urls which are the same and have been nominated in the same category, there are 1080 nominations from those 755 people.
The blogs with the most nominations so far are in the lower 20’s and upper teens, but the average nominations per blog url is around 1 or 2.
Ok, that’s it for now. There’s still another week to go, so get going and submit your nominations before the 28th Feb.
P.S. When the 2007 SA Blog Awards are over and done with, I’ll be releasing the source code so that all you geeks out there can help make next years SA Blog Awards Site the best EVER.
