a call from Dell’s Mobile brand mananger

As you already know Dell made a little oops on their website with the free notebooks. They put the 2.0 tools in place to listen to what you & I have to say. Dell have started to listen, they’re about to launch a new range of notebooks running some flavour of Linux, Ubuntu, SuSE, Red hat? They were even kind enough to sponsor an awesome Inspiron notebook for the SA bLOG Awards 2007.

Your Web AddiCT had this idea… decided to pop them an email explaining my idea & unlike some people’s experiences. Gavin Slevin, Dell’s Mobile Brand manager actually called me. Yes a telephone call, not a scripted email message, a telephone call from Dell’s Mobile brand Manager, Gavin Slevin.

Pretty impressed, Dell is really listening. They cannot tell us which flavour of Linux will be available just yet but you are able to purchase a Dell N series without Microsoft Windows pre-installed already.

What was the other Dell of an idea Your Web AddiCT had? Cannot tell you about it just yet, but Gavin Slevin will be discussing it internally after the easter weekend. Looking forward to the feedback.
