What started as a rumour among TED fellows at TEDglobal2007, become a truemor on the last day. All TED Fellows will receive a notebook, thank you AMD & Google. One Laptop per Fellow ๐Ÿ˜›

The majority of TED fellows chose Mac instead of PCs. What does that tell you about the TED fellows? What does that tell you about PCs?

That was early June. That was 4 months ago. Since when does it take 4 months to get 100 notebooks from point A to 100 point B’s? With the precision TED global 2007 conference was executed, with Google, AMD and Apple, with TEDsters reach and influence on all things technology, entertainment, design. Why on Google earth would it take four months to get 100 notebooks shipped?

Your Web AddiCT thinks the answer lies in the Max OS X version 10.5 “Leopard” release date, which according to Wikipedia…

Apple missed Mac OS X v10.5’s release time frame as originally announced by Apple CEO Steve Jobs. When first discussed in June 2005, Jobs stated that Apple intended to release Leopard at the end of 2006 or early 2007. A year later, this was amended to “Spring 2007”, however on April 12, 2007, Apple issued a statement that its release would be delayed until October 2007 because of the development of the iPhone

It is October 2007. Will the TED fellows who made the Mac notebook choice be receiving their notebooks with the newest version of Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopoard”? That’s the feeling I have. Could this could also be the reason for the TEDglobal2007 notebook delays? Just a thought.
