We are the Green Generation

Today is Blog Action Day ! 🙂 It’s been amazing to see, there has been a massive influx of participants since I joined and last wrote about it . Looking at the Blog Action Day website today I see the total number of blogs participating in the cause totals a 15,861 with a combined RSS reach of blogs: 12,697,713.

That’s amazing!

I considered for my contributing post towards Blog Action Day today to write about something along the lines of Creating a Green Website, or Surfing the Web Green. You know, as a Web AddiCT, what can we do to support the Green initiative, to make sure we are only exploring the “Green Web”, i.e those companies behind the creation and hosting of web sites, applications, services, etc that are Green.

I considered this, but then all you have to do is go to Google and search for “Green web hosting” or “Green websites ” and you’ll receive tons of relevant resources. So much so that I don’t feel it necessary report what is soo pervasive all around us. All you need to do is just open your eyes and you see the Green theme all over the place. All you really need to do is make it a priority, make the decision, and just go Green, the rest will follow simply enough. If you need any more information and resources beyond Google about going Green, simply visit the Blog Action Day resources section. Actually, that would be a perfect place to start your search, but not before you’ve made the decision to go Green.

What I do want to say though, is if our generation is anything, forget the X Generation or Y Generation, Golden Generation or whatever, if anything, we are the Green Generation and I hope that all of you who believe this also, embrace it, champion it and undoubtedly in the future this period in history will be known as the Green Generation, where it all began.
