Photographic websites , have rocked the web since day 1. And for about a year and 2 days ago( 75.co.za was born.- it rocked this space on a whole new level.
So , what exactly is 75.co.za ?
the answer is pretty simple : 75.co.za , is a daily collaborative photographic project which allows professional and amateur ‘Graphers (as they are referred to in their community ), to post daily photographs and then engage the whole community in discussions through comments.
Here’s a little bit background on 75 — the brains behind 75, is Lebogang Nkoane , an equally talented programmer, web designer and amazingly talented photographer from Alexandra Township in Jo’burg, came up with this whole concept of a collaborative photographic project which he initially derived from Sinah Ntholi Nkoane, another photography – journal he had been running for five years or so.
” I realised, that I would actually like to see more day by day photography from other people” he says, ” so I decided to build this here to allow for that. ”
What’s really interesting about 75, is that each Grapher (also known as rockstars !) is only allowed one photograph a day on every other day. You might just be wondering why only one photograph?Well, put it this way — it’s a fine line between ‘quality’ and ‘quantity’ also, he , (Lebogang that is), believes that it induces a sense and appreciation of photography.
Currently, 75 awaits a redesign which is in gamma and it also promises lots of other cool stuff, but I’m pretty interested in seeing how the end product is going look like.
