GatorURL – Afrigator URL shortening service
With the introduction of twitter-like Gatorpeeps micro-blogging service to the Afrigator pond of social media tools the next logical step would be to add a URL shortener. As Justin Hartman already has developed TinyLink.co.za in his spare time, Afrigator now also provide a URL shortening service to go with GatorPeeps called GatorURL.
What is GatorURL?
GatorURL is a free service that takes long urls and makes them short. This is useful when you need to embed urls into an email that you’re sending or if you use Instant Messaging and want to send a quick link to someone.
GatorURL urls will never exceed 26 characters so any url longer than 26 characters can be shortened using our service. We can store a total of 2,176,782,336 urls in our database and because of this we will never delete your GatorURL – ever! Rest assured your GatorURLs will be around for a long time to come.
Because we know coming to GatorURL each time to create a short url is a pain we’ve created an easy way for you to make GatorURLs direct from Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. This means you never have to visit GatorURL to make a short url.
For developers GatorURL also created a public API and you can now integrate GatorURLs into your software and web-based applications with ease.
There is yet another service coming to Afrigator in the near future, can any of you guess what it is?
