In January 2007 I blogged that South Africa needs a Job board widget for blogs. Over the last few days there has been 2 new sites that cater for Web, Creative, Design Jobs in Africa and South Africa.
At this time, it’s a simple and free place to post jobs for African technology professionals. So, what I’m really looking forward to seeing are opportunities listed specifically for people in Africa. That last bit is important, it’s for African devs, designers and bloggers.
Up next is AdJobs.co.za from a team of ex-Londoners who have come to South Africa to teach us? I think…
We are a bunch on ex Londoners who decided to trade our umbrellas and water logged shoes for the sunny shores of SA we once new. Part of what we are trying very hard to do is to bring to South Africa the level of Design & Development in the Digital and General Advertising Industry what we have been exposed to working overseas.
While there are a handful of great projects coming out of SA (Your Blog being on of them ) we are finding that the industry is still behind its full potential.
So taking matters into our own hands we are creating a series of online platform/channels to educate and develop the up and coming talent of SA.
You can find wwworking in the folliwng categories on AdJobs:
- Marketing & Media
- Graphic Design
- Web Design
- Web Development
Both these sites use the Open Source Job Board platform called JobberBase and you are able to create a widget from White African Job Board or AdJobs that display category specific or company specific jobs on your website or blog too.
So now, everyone who keeps pinging me on email, twitter or IM looking for talent to hire. Here are two platforms where you can post your jobs, build a widget and find the pick of the crop to wwwork with you for free 🙂
