In the following TED Talk by Dan Pink he discusses the science of motivation. When solving problems in business, engineering or web wwworking, incentives do not wwwork the way you expect it to. He makes his case where he talks to the the TED audience as if he were addressing a jury about how people are rewarded for their effort and claims that financial incentives result in a negative impact on overall performance.
