Last week, South African Tourism launched mzan.si – the first ever SA URL shortener – and the Quirk team are thrilled to have been a part of the process! Created and developed by the QuirkStars as part of SAT’s 2010 FIFA World Cupโข campaign, mzan.si allows anyone to shorten, track and share links easily through a number of social networks.
I happen to know that another local URl shortener has been around for a long while. That URL shortener is caledl href.co.za and guess what it does: allows anyone to shorten and share links easily through a number of social networks.
Was mzan.si really the first ever SA URL shortener then?

GatorURL is also another URL shortener launched about a year ago by the South African folks over at Afrigator.
