Nando's Kloof Street serving Raw Chicken

I eat Nando’s chicken religiously. Not week goes by without me ordering chicken meal from Nando’s Kloof Street marinated in one of their 5GS (5 great sauces). We’ve all seen and loved the the Nando’s TV ad with the new CEO (Chicken Excellence Officer). This is the second time Nando’s on Kloof Street, Cape Town have served me raw chicken.

I ordered a half Chicken cut into four, mild, well done. When we received our order it had the cut in four, mild and well done stickers on them. This is what the chicken looked like when we opened the parcel.

Does this chicken look well done to you? Does this Nando’s chicken even look as if it was grilled? We love Nando’s sauces and have one of them at home so we had to put this raw chicken into our own oven, on grill, for another 30 minutes before it was edible. This was the result.

Can the new Nando’s CEO please get in touch. I cannot believe I had to pay a premium for Nando’s chicken just to have to put it into the oven and grill it again as the chick we received from Nando’s Kloof Street was hardly grilled and almost RAW.

Nothing worse that raw chicken …. yes there is, especially when you have to chase it:( Nando’s are generally good fast food! I think the new CEO Nando’s should have clucked you by now lol. That CEO thingy is a spoof lol.

I must withdraw my previous comment about “semi-raw” chicken. Last night I asked the attendants at Nando’s to make sure the chicken was cooked right through. I recieved the chicken with a sticker on the packed marked “well done”. Up until that point, I had never known that you can specify how you want your chicken cooked. This is not clearly advertised. You are asked many questions when you order. One of them is if you want your chicken “mild, “medium” or “hot”. But you are never asked if you want it well done. Normally, I have recieved my chicken very undercooked. I suspect Nando’s is trying to 1) save money on gas or 2) cut down that the chicken is on the grill so that they can serve another customer and get you out of there as soon as possible (this is a profit motive).
