PriceCheck Mobile App chosen Finalist at International Mobile App of The Year 👐 Web AddiCT 🇿🇦

PriceCheck mobile app — an African price comparison service orperational in South Africa and Nigeria— was chosen as one three finalists along side The Hoyts Cine app and the Cooklet app for Blackberry’s international App of the Year contest. The contest is run by Blackberry, whereby blackBerry worldwide users are given a chance to vote for the winning app.

Pricecheck’s app for the Blackberry 10 plaftorm allows users to check and compare product prices from a multitude of online and offline stores as well as access to user reviews. Moreover, the app also features a barcode scanner which makes it easier for users to check for prices. It is built on HTML5 and JavaScript.

Pricecheck’s mobile app is also available on other platforms such as iOS, Windows Phone 7/8 and Android. PriceCheck’s success is owed to the rapid growth of online and mobile shopping in South Africa in recent years. PriceCheck claims that it processes through its application, a new barcode every 10 to 20 seconds. That’s remarkable milestone.
