South African Smart Phone Device Stats 2014

Aslam Levy shared this interesting data from the Presidential Inauguration’s free w-fi smart phone device types:

On Saturday we held the Presidential inauguration. Our partner, the City of Tshwane, made free wifi available to the 20 000 citizens on the southern lawns via the Isizwe project. Below is the breakdown in handset types accessing the wifi. BB is dead, Android is king for now.

Android Devices were number 1 with the lion’s share of the mobile phones followed by BlackBerry, iOS and Windows (mainly Nokia). Long Live BlackBerry! 🙂
