#my22seven Frugal Revolution – Frugalution
Since embarking on the 22seven journey after meeting Christo Davel and installing and using the app it has given me a whole new perspective of my finances in an easy to understand interface. Being frugal with my income and selective of my expenditure has been one of the main priorities over the past couple of months. Herewith all the changes or revolutions that have been sparked simply by managing my finances with the aid of the 22seven app:
22seven changed my car insurance
As previously noted I was spending more on my car insurance than petrol. A quick online quote from multiple insurance providers shaved hundreds of rands off my premium. About R400 saved.
22seven changed my coffee consumption
If you follow my instagram feed you’ll notice that it is littered with coffee shots. I used to live on nothing but really good coffee and cigs all day. Bad for my health and my wallet too. I now plunge my own coffee and limit myself to one good cup a day. I cannot calculate how much this has saved me just yet but I know it’s a huge saving not buying an Americano every day.
22seven changed how and where I order takeout
I have been using Mr D to order take aways on a regular, sometimes more than once a week, basis. Mr D inflates the prices of the food at various restaurants and charges a delivery fee. Which adds quite a bit of extra to my monthly food expenses. Along came orderin who aggregates almost all the same restaurants without inflating the prices of meals and doesn’t charge steep prices for delivery. I also used my free minutes on my phone contract to call the very same restaurants who offer free delivery. Even more saved.
22seven changed how I work
Using the 22seven app to analyse my various income streams made me see which of income generating tasks I perform generates the most profit. Following the advice of my mentor as well as the info 22seven revealed made me work less and earn more. This has freed up more time to…
22seven changed how I invest
Instead of using a Discovery financial advisor who charges commission and some other weird fees I’ve decided to take control of where my money is invested. This is still a work in progress so I’m not sure how much I’ll be saving. With more time available thanks to changing the way I work it will be a learning experience along with saving and earning a few extra Rands.
22seven changed when I go on holiday
Instead of having a Januworry and refraining from using the ‘ke-Dezember Boss’ excuse I declined going on vacation during the December break and chose to work instead. I know have sufficient funds to take a break without breaking the bank.
